experience building flight simulators and other complex products for aerospace training and research applications. The
Biomedical Division has been manufacturing hyperbaric chambers for over 40 years, achieving a number of firsts during that
time, including:
- The first rectangular hypobaric/hyperbaric multiplace chamber;
- The first 6-ATA, 2-compartment, 18-place clinical chamber;
- Computer-based automatic chamber operation;
- Electronic recordkeeping of each treatment;
- Connectivity to electronic medical record systems;
- FDA clearance for general administration of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on the prescription of a physician;
- 700-pound patient capability.
ETC hyperbaric chambers are in use in hundreds of hospitals, outpatient treatment centers, and government facilities in the
United States and throughout the world.

Patient Comfort
ETC Bara-Med chambers incorporate a proprietary pressure change technology (SMOOTH RIDE™) that reduces barotrauma of the
middle ear and the pain and discomfort associated with “ear squeezes” associated with pressure changes.
Adjustable height gurneys provide easier patient entry and exit from Bara-Med monoplace chambers.
Bara-Med chambers include a patient call button inside the chamber and two-way communication between patient and medical staff.
Pillows, wedges, and mattresses for monoplace chambers provide adjustability for patient positioning.
ETC provides a video entertainment system as a chamber accessory. The support arm for the flat panel display provides
optimal positioning. Monoplace chambers can be equipped with stereo speakers.
